When Irvin D. Reid took the office of president at Wayne State more than 10 years ago, he stressed a commitment to student success, research, the urban environment, diversity and innovative technology.
During the first of what will likely be many campus interactions, Dr. Jay Noren, the sole candidate for Reid's job, echoed those sentiments.

In a unanimous decision made by the Wayne State Board of Governors, Dr. Jay Noren was elected as the 10th president of WSU.
The vote, which took place in a special meeting on May 14, was a resounding 8-0 in favor of Noren (pronounced nor-een).
"I am humbled, flattered and energized by the chance to join the Wayne State community," Noren said.

Women whose religious restrictions prevent them from attending a conventional prom were given the opportunity to have fun without compromising their values. This past Friday, WSU featured The Grand Ball - a females-only prom - in the ballroom of the Student Center, hosted by the Bangladesh Students Association (BSA).

After disappointing sales and low satisfaction ratings on student surveys, Magic Wok and Villa Pizza moved out of their Michigan Union locations and Bonici Brothers Pizza will soon leave the Michigan League.
