As self-ascribed descriptions go, few are more apt than the label embraced by Flight of the Conchords, "New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo." Blatantly self-parodying and stylistically spot-on, this absurdly cumbersome distinction should explain Flight of the Conchords' performance at the Michigan Theater Saturday evening.

Why We're Not Emergent (By Two Guys Who Should Be) by Kevin Deyoung and Ted Kluck is important. The emerging church movement (or discussion) is a huge part of the U.S. church landscape. Books and writings from authors like Brian McLaren, Peter Rollins, Doug Pagitt and Rob Bell are flooding college campuses with a fresh perspective on Christianity and some very good critiques of the modern church.
